There may be those breeds of house cats that do not have registration papers; however, they can surely make you happy to have them as your pet.
Breeds of house cats come in different categories compared to the pedigreed cats. Therefore, rest assured that when selecting the type of breed that you want, your selections will never be limited.
In classifying the different breeds of cats, veterinarians usually give them their own easy method to distinguish them. Examples of those classifications they give are “DLH” (domestic long-haired) cats, “DMH” (domestic medium-length hair) cats or “DSH” (domestic short-haired) cats. These three paragons are usually used whenever they are unable to identify the specific breed. Should there be other variations regarding the aspects of a particular breed, it is referred to as a mixed breed.
One unique kind of house cats are those called the “polydactyl” cats or cats having a congenital physical anomaly. What makes this type of house cat unparalleled to other breeds is because of its additional toes. Since a lot of these beings were owned by an author named Ernest Hemingway, it is also called the Hemingway cat. Actually, there are polydactyl cats seen until today.
Categorizing the breeds of house cats may also come according to their colors or any markings present. One paragon of a house cat classified according to colors is the calico cats due to their color trademarks of orange, white and black. Some variations are those that have slightly paled colors and they are the “diluted” calicos. Also, they are considered to have stunning coats supplemented with those colors blended. A breed of house cats recognized by their unique markings are those called the tabbies. Also called tiger kitties, tabbies are known for their stripes and spots aspects and obviously, they resemble the tiger image.
Another unique breed of house cats is what they call the tortoiseshell cat. Their name implies to their analogous three shades that are seen like a hanging curtain. Although white markings on some tortoiseshell cats are seen, most of them are absent from it. Usually, most calico and tortoiseshell cats with three colors are the female ones which makes it an interesting fact.
Other breeds of house cats have two colors only such as the bi-colored and the tuxedo cat. There are even those consisting of only points located on their paws or ears. Since there is a vast array of house cat selections, surely you can find the right type you are comfortable to keep as your pet.
