Television gives us an outside view of horse racing. Usually you see someone win and they will start jumping up and down and everybody is cheering them on. Most of us don’t get the chance to go to an actual race track to bet. There are many ways that you can win with horse racing. If you’ve always wanted to know how people make bets on horse races read on.
For those of you that play the lottery it share the same name as your local state lottery game. However, this is different as you must pick the winning horse in three consecutive races in order to win. You can use the odds provided or pick your own horse. If you are new to horse gaming this might be a more difficult task to figure out.
This is a much simpler betting program. You can pick one horse that you think will win first, second or third place. The terminology is a little different if you aren’t used to it. Bet to win would be chosen if you want to bet on the first place horse. Bet to place is picking the second place horse. Bet to show is the third place horse that crosses over the finish line. You can win on the bet to place if your horse comes in first or second place. You win for the bet to show if your pick comes in second or third place.
This sounds more like what you hear from Alex Tribec on the Jeopardy game show. However, in the horse racing arena you will need to pick the winning horse in two consecutive races in order to win this play ticket. As it is difficult enough to pick the winning horse for simply one race this lowers the odds of getting a stack of cash from your play slip.
With the trifecta you will need to pick three horses in the way they cross the finish line to win this play. This is extremely difficult to do.
This is similar to the trifecta except you have to pick the correct horse for the fourth place finish as well as first through third place. As this is not won as often the return amount on a winning ticket is a large sum.
This is not as difficult as the trifecta or superfecta, but you must pick the horses that finish in first and second place. The ease of this play is that as long as you’ve picked the correct two horses you will win. It won’t matter which horse you listed for first or second as long as they are chosen. So don’t throw away your ticket!
Lastly is the exacta which is a version of the quinella where one must pick the horses for first and second place. But it must be an exact pick or you will not win. If you don’t have a clue you are better off doing the quinella bet. This will increase your chances of winning.
So you should now be able to place your bets now that you understand how to bet on horses. The trick now is figuring out which horses to choose.
