Nowadays Internet has changed all the styles of our life. With the development of the internet, our language becomes more and more colorful. One example is that we can express our life and though in new forms. There come lot of cyber words which make language lively. Just like “gelivable”. “Geilivable”, combining the pinyin geili (giving strength) with the English suffix for adjectives, literally means “giving power” or “cool”. Different suffixes and prefixes were then added to the word. “Hengeilivable” means “very cool”, and “ungeilivable” means “dull, not cool at all”. Other words are “ungelivable” “nubility” “zhunbility” “antizen）”and so on
Cyber words make our language lively. The network language in part is a reflection of the users’ individual character, on the other hand also reflects the characteristics of network users–young heart and the idea that try to be different. But can the cyber new words be adopted in the textbook? Can cyber words replace the classic language and become the new kind of language style？
In my opinion，cyber words cannot be adopted in the textbook. Firstly, the cyber words come fast and disappear fast too. Most of them, just like “antizen”, can not last long. These kinds of words enter into the linguistic system quickly and will also withdraw form the linguistic system the same quickly. What’s more, what the textbook needs to transfer is the classical knowledge and long-lasting words which can be trialed by time. We cannot allow the words which may be blown away fast come to our text, because they make the students lose the necessary knowledge. Secondly, when the students study, they must learn normative language at first，and cyber words will make them confuse the right expressing and the wrong expression. If the children’s the acquisition of the language has been mislead, it will take a long time to correct their linguistic mistakes. Thirdly, normal language has its own classical essays and works, which cannot be written in cyber words. As the carrier of culture, they show the unique features of a nation as well as the people. They are irreplaceable.
So I think though cyber word brings new energy and vitality to life and language, it should just be used in daily life. It should not be adopted to out textbook.
