In recent years, the high luminous efficiency LED has become a new source that Japanese government actively promote. Japanese government also put forward policy to encourage its citizenry and businesses to use LED lighting products. In Japan’s national policy, they forced enterprises using large energy to switch to us energy saving products, and many local governments also provide energy saving products of local level and LED lighting subsidies.
This is definitely a very favorable external environment for BBM which has always been the intention to open up the Market in Japan.
So the BBM decided to seize the opportunity, taking with our LED traffic lights, led gas prices sign,led arrow board and other star products to participate in the fourth session of the Tokyo International Lighting fair. Fortunately, I was also assigned to participate in this exhibition. Finally have the opportunity to take a look at Japan, it is said that the multi phase traffic lights in Shenzhen is introduced from Tokyo, Japan. So this time to Tokyo, in particular, I would like to see how traffic lights in Tokyo operated .
The so-called multi-phase traffic lights, is red yellow green full ball and arrow traffic lights. Whether this is the creation of Tokyo is not clear. But this time to Tokyo, I rarely see the arrow traffic lights. Especially in the heart of the downtown, there is no arrow light, but are ordinary circular traffic lamp. Only in individual fork junctions, can I see the arrow traffic light. Where there is intersection, as long as the front is the green light, turning left or right ,as well as straight is available.
Next is the invisible traffic lights—traffic rules come into play : people need to follow the rules of pedestrian priority when turning left . Straight line is preferred when turning right . It’s because in Japan traffic keeps on the left of the road and turning left you may clash with pedestrian crossing the road; right turning may encounter going straight vehicles. For multi fork junctions, if the fixed front is uncertain , there will be arrow traffic lights to indicate the direction of travel,because at this time , each direction is making a turn and the principle of direct priority is no longer applicable.
So, what is worth learning ?
The highest state of the traffic light is without invalid vehicle stagnation. In other words, as long as there is a way, no vehicle should be stopped. That is to say, traffic lights which is tools of traffic control should not be the transportation barriers . To do this, high-tech intelligent traffic light is the best solution. Of course, we look forward to Internet of things will come as soon as possible .
But if relying on high-tech traffic facilities is the best way to optimize the traffic efficiency ? Are we too dependent on science and technology?
In the United Kingdom, in order to reduce traffic barriers caused by traffic lights, the traffic department choose to install the traffic lights as few as possible , and rely on the traffic light in people’s mind , that is to give full play to people’s intelligent role . “traffic light installed in the heart ” is actually the traffic rules in people’s mind.
I think that the idea Britain’s road traffic management is to fully highlight traffic rules .that people should be fully and consciously abide by the traffic rules. This is not only the conditions of traffic order, but also empower them who obey the traffic rules with the flexibility to respond to change.. The result is that the traffic light is fewer and fewer , and the invalid parking is reduced, and the speed of the vehicle is improved.
Thus it can be seen that Japan’s traffic light is also set to leave some room for the traffic rules . In doing so, not only the intersection of traffic order is established, but also empower traveler to enjoy more independent chosen right at the the intersection, The enthusiasm of the people are arsing and invalid parking is reduced, which improves the efficiency of the intersection.
So why do we rely on more intelligent traffic lights rather than each other?
We can reduce our dependence on science and technology, and depend on each other more!
