New Jersey is a state situated in the Northeastern and Middle Atlantic regions of the United States of America. It lies largely within the straggling urbanite sections of New York City and Philadelphia. It is known to be the most thickly populated state in the United States of America.
New Jersey, having located at the center of the Northeast megalopolis (amongst Boston, NY City, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington DC), grew swiftly through the suburban flourish of the 1950s and beyond. Presently, New Jersey has the second highest median source of income out of all the states in the US; with Maryland having the biggest source of income. New Jersey’s current Governor is Chris Christie, a Republican.
People who live in New Jersey are normally called as “New Jerseyans” or “New Jerseyites”. Last 2006, New Jersey is the 11th most populous state in the US and the most closely populated. This is since it has 1,174 residents per square mile or 453 per km. As of July 1, 2009, New Jersey’s approximate community is 8,707,739. New Jersey’s center of population is situated in Middlesex County, Milltown; located east of the New Jersey Turnpike. Fun fact: New Jersey is home to more scientists and engineers per square mile than anywhere else worldwide.
New Jersey is where innovative creations such as FM radios, motion picture camera, lithium battery, light bulbs, transistors and electric trains were made possible. additionally, New Jersey is also the place of birth of creations similar to the drive-in movie, cranberry sauce, postcards, boardwalks, zippers, phonographs, ice cream cones and even the first use of a submarine in warfare.
There are also a lot of Diners in New Jersey. In fact, it has more diners in comparison to any other state. There are even more diners in the state of New Jersey than in any other place in the world. New Jersey has also been rated as “the least irritating” state in the US. It is also the single state that has no state song.
Currently, New Jersey possesses five teams from significant professional sports leagues participating in the state. Although, there are just two of them that bear the state’s name. The NHL’s New Jersey Devils is one of these two major league enfranchisements to carry the state’s name. The other one is the NBA’s New Jersey Nets who are looking in to move to Brooklyn in 2012. Both of these teams play their home games at the Prudential Center which is located in Newark. The other three teams are the New York Giants (NFL), New York Jets (NFL) and New York Red Bulls (Major League Soccer). The New York – New Jersey Metropolitan Area’s two NFL teams both play in East Rutherford at New Meadowlands Stadium as the New York Red Bulls of Major League Soccer play in Red Bull Arena which is located in Harrison beyond of Downtown Newark.
