The Skytrax World Airline Awards are recognized as quality accolades for the global airline industry, and are a benchmark of airline excellence. Travelers from across the world participate each year in an airline passenger satisfaction survey to decide the award winners. The World Airline Awards began in 1999 and in 2000 the survey attracted 2.2 million entries, that number having grown annually to reach 19.2 million entries in the latest 2015-2016 survey.
In receiving the 2016 World’s Most Improved Airline and World’s Best Airline Spa Facility awards, THAI president Charamporn Jotikasthira said: “These awards are a testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone at Thai Airways International. I am extremely proud of all staff and employees throughout the airline’s entire operation, for their devotion and great attention to detail in providing such excellent service to our passengers and for having the determination to continuously better ourselves for improved customer satisfaction.”
The title of World’s Most Improved Airline is a prestigious one among the many awards that make up the Skytrax World Airline Awards each year, as it reflects the winning airline’s quality improvement across the entire awards program. Analysis is made of changes in global rating and performance improvements in many of the award categories – such as airport service, cabin staff and catering – in determining the most improved airline over the past 12 months.
Those airlines to have previously won this award include Air France, Garuda Indonesia, China Southern Airlines and Hong Kong Airlines.
