Google adsense for domains is a relatively new service recently launched by Google. It’s a way to monetize your parked domains. But, is it really possible to make money with parked domains?
So I hear you asking, what are parked domains? They are domains you have purchased but not yet used. It’s annoying to find out that the domain registrars typically put their own ads on these domains.
If a visitor visits your parked domain, all they find is domain registrar ads!
Usually the domain registrar will NOT give you any share of the revenue if an ad is clicked by the visitor unless you sign up for their “revenue service” which in many cases involves a charge. So you have to pay for the privilege of loading their ad’s on your website if you want a share of the revenue.
Adsense for domains to the rescue! Using this totally free program, you get to keep the profits made from ads clicker by your visitors.
In addition, you can choose a theme for the site, and adsense for domains will serve up related ads based on your theme.
It’s very easy to theme your parked domain, and this means the visitors who finds your website is shown content and advertisements related to their search query.
The end result is that they would be more likely to click ads on your website, meaning more revenue for you.
So why would you use Google Adsense for Domains instead of just the regular Google Adsense program?
Well firstly, the domains product is for parked domains. So you do not need to have a website loaded up, and it’s super fast to get it up and going, no uploading of files, or much configuration. And it pretty much works on all domain registrars.
So this is a fast way to put something on your domain, and possibly make a few bucks while you are deciding what to do with your domain.
You would use the regular google adsense program where you already have a website uploaded and in use.
Which program will make you more money?
I found that Google adsense for domains paid significantly more “per click” than other competitor sites did (sedo, namedrive, etc) but paid less than the equivalent click from the regular google adsense program.
How do I get it to work?
Google Adsense for domains is quite straightforward to setup once you read the extended help google provides.
My suggestion is to watch an online video showing how to do it. It’s easy to do again and again for other parked domains.
So how much money will you make?
So did I actually make money with google adsense for domains? Well I am happy to report that it’s doing well for me on a few domains. I suggest you trial it for yourself. It has to be a better option that just parking your domain and giving your domain registrar free reign to put their ads on there.
I recommend you give the adsense for domains product a trial run. You can easily configure it to see visitor counts and money made per domain.
When you find a parked domain is making some money, make it a priority to put a website up on there and make even more money.
It’s free to try and nothing to buy, so you have nothing to lose to try it out.
