After more than two decades of lottery number analysis, I am more convinced than ever that any lottery player can improve his chances of winning the lottery jackpot by studying lottery number patterns. Not only do lottery number patterns and trends exist, they exist in all lotteries. They are there for everyone to see and for everyone to use to their advantage. In fact, patterns and trends exist in all games of chance. Taking advantage of them is called playing the odds and those that do it well are called professional gamblers.
In another article, ‘How Do Serious Lottery Players Play the Lottery?’ I showed how serious lottery players create a reduced play list by removing weak or underperforming numbers from play. Doing so significantly improves their chances of winning the lottery jackpot. Whenever I make this statement, some critics and skeptics become unglued and accuse me of just about everything short of raping the queen. Paraphrasing Shakespeare, “The skeptic doth protest too much, methinks.”
The basic thread of their discontent goes something like this: Just because a lottery number had a dry spell doesn’t mean that dry spell will continue. After all, it’s a random game.
I can’t believe I’m paraphrasing him twice in one article, but the Bard does have a way with words. It appears that the critic is ‘hoist with his own petar’. Today’s lottery equivalents of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern have misapplied a long term analysis to a short term game.
Lottery Number Persistence
This may surprise you, but I agree with the skeptics and critics. In fact, mathematics supports their position. Over the long haul, such patterns and trends will not continue. But, here is a part they either missed or don’t understand. For the lottery, the long haul is tens of thousands of years and the short term is our lifetime.
So, as a serious lottery player and a practical man, my only concern is the short term; my lifetime. And, in the short term, lottery number patterns like this persist for months and even years before the inevitable pendulum swings back the other way. I refer to this phenomenon as Persistence and it is easy to see it at work in every lottery.
I tend to be a pragmatic sort. So, upon finding something that will give me an advantage, I don’t necessarily need a mathematical formula that predicts what will happen with exactitude. You don’t have to understand exactly why something works in order to take advantage of it. I think I’m on pretty safe ground when I say that the vast majority of people do not understand the mathematics that describes the operation and performance of the tires on their car. And, yet they still drive their cars every day.
Lottery Number Patterns
So, what does Persistence look like? In a previous article, I stated that lottery number 45 in the Lotto Texas, 6/54 lottery was a good candidate to remove from your play list. This wasn’t a snap decision made on the spur of the moment. It was a decision made because of the numbers past performance; a pattern; a trend. Over many thousands of years, all lottery numbers in Lotto Texas will hit on the average of every 9 drawings. So, let’s see how lottery number 45 did in the short term.
In the 335 drawings from 4/26/06 to 7/8/09 this is what happened to lottery number 45. Here’s where a good lottery software package comes in handy.
To begin with, it didn’t hit for 37 drawings in a row. Later, it didn’t hit for 18 drawings in a row; then 19 drawings in a row. See the trend? See the lottery number pattern? Now, some would say you should ignore what is right before your eyes because, after all, it’s a random draw. The critics and skeptics would not take advantage of this lottery number pattern because they don’t believe it is a pattern. But, let’s say we were professional gamblers and played the odds. If we did, this is what would have happened.
Later, lottery number 45 didn’t hit for 29 drawings in a row. To the critic, this was just a fluke. Then it didn’t hit for 43 drawings in a row. The critic is still sticking to his guns. Then it didn’t hit for 36 drawings in a row. The critic is worried now that he forgot to put bullets in his gun. Then it didn’t hit for 24 drawings in a row and then 20 drawings. The critic is looking for cover. Then, most recently, it didn’t hit for 39 drawings in a row!!! Someone, call the 911. We have a missing critic. This lottery number pattern (that critics and skeptics insist does not exist) has persisted for 335 drawings. That’s 3 years and 3 months! The phase, ‘Persistence pays off’ comes to mind.
The next frustrated words from the critic’s mouth will probably be, ‘Unfair. You set us up! You cherry picked Lotto Texas because it supports your theory.’ No, I didn’t have to cherry pick a lottery. No, I didn’t have to stage this article. I didn’t choose Lotto Texas so I could easily hit this one out of the park. No, this isn’t T-Ball my friend. This type of lottery number pattern is happening in every lottery, everywhere! It’s not a fluke. In fact, you don’t have to believe me. You can prove this for yourself. Pick any lottery and take a look.
