SAN DIEGO, CA, March 18, 2014 Astute Networks, Inc., the leading provider of Networked Flash appliances, today announced it will join with the Austin, Texas VMware user community (VMUG) for a full-day conference dedicated to networking with peers, as well as discussing virtualization trends, best practices and the latest solutions.
During the event, which takes place on March 20 at the AT&T Conference Center (Austin, TX), Astute will showcase its ViSX all-flash storage appliance and discuss how it is able to meet the demanding performance requirements of VMware environments. Attendees will learn that although a number of solid-state disk (SSD) products have been introduced, what sets the ViSX apart is its patented DataPump EngineTM protocol processor. The DataPump Engine accelerates network and datastore traffic by completely offloading the storage and network processing to a purpose-built application specific integrated circuit (ASIC). This results in a 5-10x price/performance advantage over any other device on the market. The ViSX enables users to add performance to virtual machines (VMs) in minutes, without the limitations of physical server hardware, at the lowest cost per IOPs in the industry.
“The performance specialists at VMware have stated that over 80% of performance-related issues are due to storage I/O problems,” said Jeff Whitney, vice president of marketing, Astute Networks. “The Astute Networks ViSX is the answer. It provides VMware professionals with a cost-effective, VMware-certified storage solution that eliminates I/O bottlenecks, and enables them to add over 140,00 random IOPs of sustained performance where they need it, in just minutes.”
