Is playing the games in the Windows Vista really so bad? Actually, it is not. The reason why there occurs incompatibility between Vista and some games is that in the process of developing these games, they do not use Vista as the platform, but only “try to close”Vista platform. Therefore, it is inevitable to appear the incompatible conditions.
In view of such problems, the author collects and compares these problems, and finally finds there is a common feature of these problems: DirectX. That is to say, many problems happen because of the DirectX edition or improper use of DirectX. Since there is a common feature, it is easy to solve these problems.
1. Run the game and XXX.dll error occurs
When encountering dll (Dynamic Link Library) error, it is comparably easy to solve. For example, the people play the game “Shin Sangoku Musou 4″, while the system occur the”d3dx9_27.dll” error and the game could not be continued.
The solution is to copy d3dx9_27.dll file to the directory of system partition “X：WindowsSystem32”.
Tip: to similar problems, the players all could copy the corresponding DLL file to the directory of “X：WindowsSystem32” from installation disk/file.
2. By dint of DirectX 9.0c Redist
The first method is one to one solution, if there is only individual dll file or other individual file lost, the player could pick it up from installation disk/file; if several files are in error, what should we do? Under such circumstances, if we choose the first solution, people will think “there is no technology content”.
If the players want to solve the problem once and for ever, we suggest them to install the DirectX 9.0c Redist April 2007; special notice: now it has updated to DirectX 9.0c Redist August 2007.
DirectX 9.0c Redist is not the same as DirectX 9, we could regard it as “more integrated” DirectX 9. When the user installs DirectX 9.0c Redist, it could automatically scan the DirectX edition, and install the files, which DirectX has not, into the system.
3. Almighty d3dx9.dll File
Here we special explain that this method comes from experience of some players. However, this method could not solve every problem, but under most conditions, it could be used.
When the user plays a game, there occurs XXX.dll file lost or error, he could search d3dx9.dll file in the system, copy and paste it under the game installation directory, and then change its name into the file name which is reported to be lost in the system. Remark: the above installation package has this file.
4. Closely Stare at Microsoft Update Patch
If the above solutions are unable to resolve the problem, what could you do next? Of course, to consult Microsoft, as Vista system is developed by them and they shall answer for the problems.
It is fortunate that Microsoft has issued the game compatibility patch for new generation operating system Windows Vista; this patch could fix the compatibility problems that several classical PC games encounter in Windows Vista system. Special notice: when installing the above patch, Windows Vista system needs to carry out the genuine validation. Actually, the Vista which has been activated all could pass the validation.
