Until recently men had little variation in the hair style that they wore, even if it was a celebrity. The last few years however have seen new attention to men and their looks, and with the birth of the metrosexual male one who is fashionable, stylish, a patron of salons and spas, and straight there is a fresh supply of mens hairstyles and the demand to keep up.
There are five huge favorites when it comes to a celebrity hair style for men, and whether a particular look is clean, grungy, short, neat, long, or messy, if the style fits the man and his personality it is hot for this year. Here are the top five looks for guys:
One look that has stuck around since the 80s with variation is the spike. Commonly seen on a celebrity and on a lot of other types of guys, this is now known as a sexy, unkempt look. The sides and back is cropped, and the hair on top is long enough to style. Using some gel, simply take your fingers and literally mess it up some to achieve that look of clean, but just out of bed. A lot of guys are also using varying lengths of hair on top for maximum variety in styling from day to day.
Another classic celebrity hair style for men that has been around for a while with no sign of retiring soon is the high and tight look. This look actually serves as the base for most of the hairstyles that are currently being worn by the famous guys because it is one of the most versatile cuts. It can be messed up like the spike for more casual looks or combed and styled for times when a more dressed up look is needed. The sides of the head are cropped really close to the head, and so is the back, and the hair on top is left long to style or to mess up as needed.
Next up on the list are the textured hairstyles. Texture is key here, and the length of the locks is about three to four inches. Slightly longer and in the medium length category, these looks are classified by uneven lengths and messiness all around, a celebrity sporting this hair style might use hair pomade or gel to hold the wild locks that go every which way. They also use highlights throughout for a zesty, attractive look.
Celebrity hair style #4 is the crew cut. Although this is another old one, there are just some guys that love the no hassle style that look dynamite sporting it. The style has embodied a sense of authority, strength, and confidence since it is associated with police and the military.
Finally we have a style that is like the textured styles, but with a few more inches of length. Its trademark is shorn, razor cut edges and messed up style. This is currently the most popular celebrity hair style, and it shows off healthy hair and texture rich locks that ladies want to run their fingers through.
